I created Lactokids because...
In 2014
My daughter's low immunity made her fall sick often. Despite following the standard advice from other parents and experts.
Take vitamins, sleap early, only eat organic food and snacks.
There was no improvement...
It was very DISRUPTIVE. My wife spent all her leave days. While I had to turn down meetings with potential clients. All while praying that our daughter got better.
Many playdates were cancelled, lessons were missed, and the whole family felt it.
We only saw some change when we gave her probiotics.
But the results were inconsistent.
Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.
That's when we embarked on our trial and error journey to find the best probiotics for her.
We spent thousands on every kind of probiotics we could get our hands on. We gave her brands that were either popular, affordable, gummies, cultured drinks from the supermarket and even expensive ones.
Only the expensive probiotics worked. But this was not sustainable.

When my Korean client, from my advertising business, heard about our issue, he put me in touch with his friend back home.
This friend, Mr Kim, was the boss of a renowned pharmaceutical manufacturing business and also produced probiotics for some of the big international brands. And he invited us down for a tour.
It was during this visit, that I finally unlocked the secret behind probiotics.
A probiotic is one that can survive the journey to the digestive system!
Mr Kim pointed out that many brands market probiotics by talking about having more strains or higher CFU counts. But none of that matters if the probiotics cannot survive stomach acid.
He also said that the technology to protect the probiotics, called microencapsulation already exists! But Many brands skip it to keep costs low.
His factory already had the scale and equipment to do microencapsulation properly, and it is already used by his supplement clients in Korea.
How Lactokids was born
But then came the next challenge. Most microencapsulated probiotics were designed for adults; large tablets, bland taste, and not something a child would willingly take every day.
For children, it needs to taste pleasant, easy to carry around, simple to eat without choking risks.
And at that time, there was no kid-focused probiotic in the market that combined this level of protection with a truly child-friendly design.
That's when I saw an opportunity. Why not create this kid friendly probiotic so that my daughter can take it. And at the same time help give access to other parents for their kids!
After spending months working closely with Mr Kim to get every detail right, LactoKids was created!
